    Gallery of Wangara Stumpies

Wangara Kennels was established in 2002 with our first girl Yondale Red Killara, who in turn has given us Wangara Red Jeman and Wangara Red Kora.

It is with these small beginnings our stumpy family grows and thrives, giving us boundless energy trials and tribulations but endless hours of joy as well.

All dogs at Wangara Kennels are obedience trained, socialised with other dogs and humans and most of all, well loved.

Our main passion is herding with our current bitches, having passed the Instinct Test (certificate) and are now training for the Herding Tested (HT) Title.

At Wangara we undertake testing for hearing (BAER), blindness (prcd-PRA) and hip and elbow scoring to ensure the future health and soundness of the breed.

Our goal is to keep providing a loyal, sound companion for future generations to enjoy, keeping in mind the breed standard as well as the general well being of any puppies placed into new homes.

The Australian Stumpy Tail Cattle Dog is not the breed for everyone but once you have had the pleasure of owning a stumpy you will understand the passion and dedication other stumpy owners and Breeders have for this truly unique Aussie dog.

    Gallery of Wangara Waler Horses

Bordering on the Tanami Desert in the North and the McDonald ranges in the South, Newhaven Station was unique in its isolation. Originally owned by the Coppock family since 1930, Newhaven Station was sadly sold by Alex Coppock in 2000/2001 and cleared of stock. Unfortunately many of the horses met a sad fate.

A number of these horses escaped this fate by a handful of dedicated few and subsequently found new homes throughout Australia Boronia, Kadee and Saphira are three of these mares, arriving here in Singleton in 2004. Two of them heavy in foal and in poor condition. Left alone in the back paddocks they soon regained weight and in august 2004 little Redgum was born and Kateema in November 2004.

In the three years since settling down into their new home, they have proven to be true to what past and present owners of Walers have described, in temperament and stamina. I look forward to many more years of developing observing and enjoying this truly remarkable Australians own breed of horse.
